Lost in Translation

I look at you helplessly and hope

That you look beyond my meager words

Yes, read between the lines

And find your way through these chaotic and blurred

Patterns that are my thoughts, and

Emotions with which they are wreathed, for

When they make their way to my lips

The taste of these words is wrong, it’s missing something crucial

There’s just no right mold for them

No perfect release

So they remain hidden, scattered within.

So look closely, I pray

And embark on that quest to find

What I really feel, what’s really going on in my mind

For somewhere along the way

Nearly all of it is

Lost in translation.
